Flat calm at bedtime, roaring surf at 4 am. Some people got surprised. Coffee with the Ellen’s, cocktails at Pinebox. No swimming, sailing, or paddling, but who cares given everything else?

And, for breakfast, the world famous Bear omelette.
Limitless volunteer goldenrod, thrumming with life, right off the main deck. Perhaps a half dozen different pollinators very busy at work.
Sand tools and bug nets put away.
…Windrider vs 29 foot high performance cruiser (being singlehanded).
We we’re headed out towards Gooseberry when we caught sight of a boat coming down the bay towards the marina. Upon closing we turned, and the race was on.
Wind going light prevented our victory.
Cloudy, sunny, warm and cool, here and there.

Looks like a long distance traveler, maybe a Looper. I’ve decided to hold off on rolling out the cannon and firing a broadside.
Right now, two tree frogs chatting, one on my left and one on my right.

In other news, we had two visitors to the wood burning stove—bats—who were removed, though, unfortunately, a little too forcefully to insure their survival. Note to bats…we like you but please stay out of the stove.
Perfect weather—wind moderate (but building) from south west. Calm here in the lee.
