Schooner Launched…

Heliotrope
Prepped, launched, and sailed. Everything functioning perfectly. Very lively, very chilly sail.
Cooped Up
After a breakfast at Mums inside all day, reading and napping. Steady drizzle or light rain, and chilly. Log in the stove dawn to dusk.
Boat and Falls
Mostly cloudy and still chilly.
Cornmeal Cheddar Waffles…
…with maple syrup from some sap in Ontario.
Windrider (and Maverick)…
…cleaned and de-bugged.
Tamaracks (4 I know of on the property) breaking bud.

From Fierce to Flat
By mid afternoon the roaring morning wind dropped to flat calm. (The many moods of Mudge)
Rain Day…
…yesterday, and wind day today. Both very chilly. Fire in the stove all day yesterday.
Cutting up a downed balsam
In spite of the rain we took a trailer load of dropped poplar tops to the dump where we pitched them over the side and into the burn pit.
Above, a vernal pool complete with frogs. Soon to be tadpoles, I expect.
Lots Of Interesting Birds
Black throated green warbler most vocal at the moment.
Also raven, gull, crow, grackle, AND great crested flycatcher, etc. No shortage of flies available for catching.
First Paddle
Difficult getting in and out because of low water.
Low Water…
…bugs, and tree cleanup. Ice storm and wind storm did quite a bit of damage. But we now have coreopsis on the front deck.
