Goose place. A somewhat sheltered little valley along the creek, which still has some open water. Geese, well protected by down, can keep their feet warm by tucking them up or dangling them in the relatively warm water.

Neighborly Soup

January 12, 2015 by Jim Nies

Back to cold—high twelve, dropping below zero.

To Victoria Lane to play with Ellie, Maddie and Becca. It's not exaclty easy being chased around a paddock (on all fours) and then locked in a barn.  But I was selected by Maddie to be the one to put her down for her nap, and that is quite a ritual consisting of two books, two songs, some back scratchig, and counting to at least 20.

Back home, the first of our soup suppers with the two sets of neighbors across the street.
